I believe it to be a clever ploy planned and executed by the crafty folks at Krispy Kreme donuts. They have been victimized by some "pastry-jackers," and have decided that the best security is…dare I use the word?…the facade pictured here.

It actually just means that the cargo that is being carried is inedible. It is left over from a silly rule implemented by the Department of Transportation that has since been deemed obsolete.
