  1. Mark! It's nice to see you commenting here — after being the inspiration, of sorts, for the blog in the first place! 🙂

About "The Graduate" … I watched it for the first time when I was 18 and itching to head off to college after graduating high school. That summer, I was dating (well, sorta dating?) this guy who was 28. He was actually closer to my mom's age at the time (she was 19 when I was born), and the three of us watched it together at my house. In a very bizarre, weird moment I've never fully understood — nor wanted to, honestly, my mom and this guy had a total bonding moment over the movie.

I didn't love the movie as much as you clearly did, but I thought it was great! Didn't they make a musical based on the story a while back?

  2. my bad….i read the post wrong….you have seen the Graduate and thus the apocalypse is no longer upon us.

  3. OH MY GOD YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE GRADUATE???!!! NEVER MIND #7, IT'S MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME…..and if you're planing to see the movie "Garden State" seeing the Graduate firstis essential. Plus yo get to see Dustin Hoffman when he was a young nobody..it was the film that made him. We should see it together if you can handle the fact that I've memorized the lines.

  4. I actually didn't *dislike* the Godfather (though I definitely think it's more of a guy movie than not), but it was one of those — like Silence of the Lambs and the Exorcist — that I was essentially required to watch (peer pressure is a terrible, terrible thing). The sequel, Godfather II, was not on the required list, and I just haven't gotten to it yet.
