Holy crap! I was reading the Baxter Bulletin this morning and saw this story about a shooting at Old Hickory Park — MY PARK!!

Man hospitalized after shooting

A 29-year-old Mountain Home man was shot twice Saturday in Hickory Park while on visitation rights with his three children.

Benjamin Tucker Staples, who was shot in the neck and stomach, was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center by Action EMS. Staples was listed in stable condition Sunday, according to a nursing supervisor.

The incident occurred shortly before noon.

James Arnold, 58, of Mountain Home, Staples’ former father-in-law, was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder, according to Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel. Bond was set at $100,000. Arnold remained in the Baxter County Jail Sunday.

Emergency 911 received a call at 11:51 a.m. reporting a shooting incident at Hickory Park parking lot, Manuel stated.
