misplaced compliment.

There’s been a generally upward trend in traffic to this blog, and I know from the sketchy data tabulated by the bravenet counter over there in the right sidebar that a fair amount of my traffic comes from random strangers. In years past, when my personal online activity centered around my Web site, I’ve felt nothing short of nausea at the idea that total strangers could happen upon my most personal writing and — heaven forbid — read it. It never seemed to matter to me that those people who did stumble across my writing and let me know had universally positive things to say (Mark even posted about it on his blog).

Anyway, for whatever reason, the upswing in random traffic here on the blog, surprisingly, doesn’t bother me at all.

Nor was I bothered by wangchung124‘s random comment yesterday declaring “youre an idiot.” Notwithstanding the lack of apostrophe in his/her comment, frankly, I took a look at Mr./Ms. Wangchung124’s “Day of Victory” blog, and I’m not impressed. I am ambiguous on wangchung124’s gender because in the profile, he/she says he/she is a male, but this post about playing poker identifies him/her as a girl.

This only lends credence to my belief that if Mr./Ms. Wangchung124 is the standard by which we’ll determine intelligence, with Mr./Ms. Wangchung124 being the example of intelligence, by golly, I’m proud to be called an idiot.

  1. a coupele of weeks ago i had a dude whose pofile picture had him wearing a black eye patch and a pirates hat complete with skull and crossbones left a comment after a particularly philosphical post of mine which said "come to tahiti for only $49" and it was linked to a travel website. I promptly removed it. Let's see…we have spam..we have phish…and now we have blogger comment spam..any idea what a good name for that should be? I think if they are idiotic comments we should call them "Wangchung Pirates" .
