Weekend recap

  • The Bombers won, breaking a 19-year winning streak. Sunday’s Harrison Daily Times quotes head Goblin football coach Tommy Tice as saying they (Harrison) won’t play a better quarterback or linebacker this season. I’m impressed.
  • The Hogs didn’t win, in a heartbreaking two-point loss to Texas Saturday night. I wore my newly purchased U of A cap en route back to Texas today in a show of unconditional support. Besides, when I stopped in Fayetteville, I didn’t want everyone to attack my car, which sports Texas plates. 🙂
  • My drive back to Texas today was uneventful, which I find is the best way to spend eight hours in a car. Amazingly, I spent less than an hour of that time on the phone. I’ll probably be a bit scratchy in the throat tomorrow from all the singing, though.
  • Jon Stewart’s book, which I mentioned last week, is freaking HILARIOUS. I’ve been listening off and on to the audiobook, which may be funnier than reading the actual book since you get the full range of Daily Show correspondents reading their own work. Plus, little can compare to Jon’s deadpan delivery. I highly recommend.
  • Hawaii’s only ten days away! Holy crap! {sigh} I wish I could fit a person in my luggage.
  • I bought some flowers tonight. I seem to be on a flower-buying binge lately. It’s just so darned much *fun* to give someone flowers, though, don’t you think?
